Croatia: Intimate cruising in the Adriatic Sea

A personal note from Ales!

Many of you know that I was born in the beautiful little country of Slovenia and while I grew up in Germany, we spend each summer at my grandmother’s place, near the town I was born in.

While we were there we often ventured across the border to Croatia to spend a few days on the pristine waters of the Adriatic Sea which was always a highlight for me when I was a little boy.

Next summer, my son Isaac, who now is 15 years old, and I, will be going back to visit my wonderful grandmother (Isaac’s Great Grandma!) who will be celebrating her 96th birthday next month, followed by a week in Croatia.

This will be Isaac’s 4th trip to Slovenia but his first time to visit Croatia and I am so excited to show him a little bit of where I spend my childhood summers.

In this newsletter, I’d like to share one of the ways to experience this beautiful part of Europe – ENJOY!

How would you like to travel this breathtaking landscape in one of the most romantic, adventurious and intimate accommodations possible?!

You can take one of the few cruise ships which offer accommodations for just around 50 – 70 people, a far cry from the large vessels carrying 2000 – 5000 passengers, or why not charter a yacht and sail along the amazing Adriatic coast of Croatia with family and friends, which you will find is much more affordable than you might think.

Sail on a 7 night/8 day itinerary on the beautiful ship “Otac Ivan” shown on the picture above.

The ship has:

  • 14 twin/double rooms
  • 3 triple rooms
  • A kitchen complete with a chef
  • A large deck to relax and take in the amazing views

Pricing includes the entire crew and 2 meals a day as well as all port charges and taxes and the ship would sail from/to the beautiful town of Trogir. The rest is completely customized just for you and I’ll be happy to make suggestions for an unfortgettable itinerary.

You can sail to quiet coves where only you and your group would be and visit some of the most picturesque towns and villages like Dubrovnik, Split or the island of Hvar.

While the ship can hold up to 37 passengers, even if you were to travel with just a small group of 12 people, which could include your most favorite family members and friends, the per person cost would only be around $ 2,000. This is less than what it would cost to sail on one of the big ships and I know which one I would prefer ๐Ÿ™‚ .

I have no doubt that this kind of journey would be a great hit with anyone since it’s a unique and ultra private experience just for you and your group.

The entire ship is yours and there’s enough space to have early morning yoga classes on deck or a enjoy a nice evening under the stars before going to bed.

This can also easily be combined with a few days before and after visiting some of the beautiful sites in Croatia like the Plitvice Lakes National Park or a few extra days in Dubrovnik.
