Upon arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Day 2 begins with a morning cruise along Bali’s eastern shore aboard a 50-foot traditionally-styled Balinese outrigger. The warm tropical waters are teeming with brilliantly colored reef fish – a delight for snorkelers.

DAYS 3 & 4

Ubud & Ayung River Valley

Learn about the Hindu culture and experience the traditional daily life of the rural Balinese. Explore village roads full of community farms and cottage industries. You may be invited into the homes of some of the local artisans and craftsmen to experience their hospitality — and share the skills and stories behind their crafts. Trek into the Ayung River Valley, followed by a healthy picnic breakfast

DAYS 5 & 6

Nusa Dua, Bedugal & Lake Beratan

Enjoy a fascinating full-day tour of the lush green highlands of Bedugul. Visit the Candi Kuning Market with its colorful fruit and flower stalls. Travel to Lake Beratan to tour the 17th-century Ulun Danu Temple. Continue to Alas Kedaton or “Holy Forest,” where hundreds of monkeys live free in their natural habitat, residing high in the nutmeg trees and at the Pura Bukit Sari (temple.) End today with a spectacular sunset at the famous Tanah Lot Temple, built on a volcanic outcrop on Bali’s rugged west coast.

DAYS 7 – 9

Yogyakarta, Borobudur & Depart for Home

Enjoy a drive to the Kedu Valley to explore the Borobudur Temple which sits majestically on a hilltop overlooking lush green fields and distant hills. Buried for centuries under ash from a volcanic eruption, Borobudur Temple was rediscovered in 1814 and is celebrated as the largest Buddhist monument in the world. Your expert local guides will reveal its secret meanings and bring to life the knowledge contained within its reliefs. On Day 9 you will be taken to the airport for your flight home or on to your next destination.
